Expanding the Vision: Reigning Champ From Vancouver to Toronto
In the heart of Kitsilano, the Reigning Champ storefront on West 4th is a masterclass in minimalist design. We are proud to announce that Blast Media has brought this same elevated aesthetic to their Robson Street and Ossington (Toronto) locations, creating a cohesive visual experience across the country.
For this latest seasonal update, we moved away from the glass and into the space, producing and installing custom interior hanging sign displays that add a sophisticated layer of depth to these iconic windows.

Elevating the Visual Experience
While vinyl is great for bold impact, hanging displays allow for a more tactile, three-dimensional look. For these installations, we focused on:
-
Precision Suspension: Using discreet, high-strength aircraft cable systems, we ensured the signage appears to float effortlessly within the window frames.
-
Double-Sided Clarity: Since these signs are visible from both the sidewalk and inside the store, we utilized premium, block-out substrates to ensure the graphics remain crisp and vibrant without any "show-through" from the reverse side.
-
Architectural Alignment: Every sign was laser-leveled to align perfectly with Reigning Champ's clean interior lines, maintaining the brand's "Respect the Details" philosophy.
💡 Pro-Tip: The "Parallax Effect"
Why choose hanging signs over traditional window vinyl? It comes down to visual depth.
When a sign is suspended 6–12 inches behind the glass, it creates a "parallax effect" as people walk or drive by. Because the sign and the window frame move at different speeds relative to the viewer’s eye, the display feels more dynamic and high-end. It also allows natural light to flow around the graphic, preventing the storefront from feeling "closed off" and inviting customers to look past the sign and into the store's collection.
"Moving from window vinyl to hanging displays allows us to play with the physical space of the store. It’s about creating a premium gallery feel that stops people in their tracks." — The Blast Media Team
