RVCA x Boardroom Window Display
YES we are at it again with The Boardroom on West 4th! This eye catching 3 dimensional RVCA window we just completed recently was one of the most complex vinyl jobs we have done as of yet. The Boardroom wanted a 3 dimensional window display and the creative people at RVCA came out with this design. It's the first window in North America featuring RVCA's new Fall 2013 artwork. It is also the largest print and cut vinyl window job Blast Media has ever done. We always love working with The Boardroom and Timebomb on putting these window displays together. The final outcome is always worth all the hard work!
This window display took a lot of time and love from our installers and the outcome was well worth it!

Here's some technical information for a better understanding of how things had to be done.
First the vinyl was printed with grey. Next a computer plotter cuts out all of the vinyl shapes and as you can see there are many MANY different shapes. Then our weeder - "weeds" out all of the vinyl that needs to be removed to create the cut shape.
Once all of the excess material has been removed a layer of masking/transfer tape is laminated onto the front side of the remaining vinyl.
The people inside the window are made with printed paper mounted to foam core.
The detail in the artwork is amazing! The artwork is designed by Kelsey Brookes. You can see more of RVCA's fall artwork at http://ca.rvca.com/s/anp - RVCA's artist network program. If you are in Vancouver and around the West 4th neighborhood be sure to pop by The Boardroom and take a look at this display. Shoot some photos if you like and stick them up here or tweet us @BlastMediaPrint ! We'd love to see what you like about it.
